When will I see the results?
Most people see an immediate response and changes continue to appear gradually over the next 4-6 months.
How long do the effects of Thermage last?
This is a permanent shrinking of collagen fibers. Studies show that thermal collagen changes can persist but as we continue to age more stretching of collagen develops. Further Thermage treatments can correct the ongoing aging and stretching process.
How many treatments will I need?
A single treatment has produced good results in most clients. Dr. Goldhar will assess each client as to the number and frequency of treatments required to achieve optimal results for their skin.
What is a Thermage treatment like?
An anesthetic cream is usually applied one hour before treatment and we also recommend a mild sedative to help you relax. You will experience a brief intense heating sensation each time the sophisticated treatment tip touches and tightens the skin. To protect your skin and make the treatment more comfortable, a cooling spray is delivered before, during, and after each application of the treatment tip. The whole process usually takes a couple of hours.
Some clients exhibit a temporary redness or hive like rash for a few hours after treatment. There is usually no swelling or bruising. It is a non-invasive procedure and clients can return to their normal routines immediately.
Should Thermage be used in conjunction with other procedures?
In many cases Dr. Goldhar will recommend that thermage be done in conjunction with other cosmetic and laser procedures to achieve an overall youthful look. Thermage is one of the foundation building and repairing procedures that helps reverse gravitational and environmental induced sagging. It is often used in conjunction with Botox® and fillers for further foundation alteration. As well, it is used with IPL, Fraxel, Cosmelan, peel and microdermabrasion for surface skin repair.
