Microdermabrasion

Youthful refreshed skin

Microdermabrasion is a safe, natural way to exfoliate old skin cells and reveal a clearer, more youthful looking skin.

The process uses fine crystals to refine, resurface and polish the epidermal (top) layer of the skin resulting in a brighter, smoother, clearer skin with a more even skin tone. The repeated process will also stimulate the production of a new layer of skin cells which will bring with it an increased level of collagen and elastin resulting in fresher, younger looking skin. Microdermabrasion can be used to reduce or remove darker sunspots, fine lines, sallowness and large pores on the face. It can also help reduce acne, sun damage or scars from any cause.

Microdermabrasion - Frequently Asked Questions

Where can microdermabrasion be used?

Most common areas of treatment are the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back, hands, knees and elbows.

How many treatments will I need?

Generally we recommend an initial series of 6-8 treatments at two-week intervals.

When will I see the results?

You will see some improvement in texture and colour after the first treatment but generally by the third treatment results are more noticeable.

What is a microdermabrasion procedure like?

A diamond hand piece or ultra fine uniform beads of inert corundum aluminum oxide micro crystals are propelled and re-gathered by a vacuum device then used to polish the skin surface. The crystals gently exfoliate dead skin cells of the outermost layer. After the procedure, you may experience a slight tingling and your skin may feel tighter as if exposed to the wind or sun. Also your skin may appear slightly flushed but this generally fades in 12-24 hours. Generally the face takes about 45 minutes, hands can take about 10 minutes. Since there is minimal discomfort and no healing time, one can resume normal activities immediately after a treatment.
